Heading towards 3.0 Era, China Education Innovation Expo promotes the transforma
On April 16th press conference of the sixth China Education Innovation Expo (CEIE) was held at the Zhuhai campus of Beijing Normal University, with the theme of “SYNERGIZE, IMPACT, TRANSFORM: Driving High-Quality Education Development Through Innovation”
According to Professor Liu Jian, initiator of CEIE and Director of China Education Innovation Institute (CEII) at Beijing Normal University, “The Sixth Education Innovation Expo is heading towards the 3.0 era”, will showcase advantages as following—firstly, it responds to social demands, focuses on many important issues, serves to build a system of high-quality education; secondly, it becomes a testing field and a coordination platform for education departments and normal universities throughout the country; thirdly, it establishes double committees and relevant research institutions that support the exploration of long-term mechanics for achievements transformation; fourthly, numerous leading companies and non-profit organizations have participated in this project, a great promotion of the brand of CEIE, etc. The organizer innovates a series of systems and methods to build a long-term mechanics for achievement transformation.Combined efforts will be taken to support the conferences, roadshows, signing ceremonies and other events, promoting the transformation of educational achievements.
A thousand education innovative achievements that showcase “Chinese Wisdom”
The 14th National-Five-Year Plan explicitly places high significance on improving national quality, with the indication of building a high-quality education system.
Liu Jian stated that China is facing a new round of global technology changes and a major trend of transformation and upgrade in economic and social development. Meanwhile, we are meeting with new challenges in a complex international environment revolving around China-US relation.The need to deepen education reforms that emphasize the essence of learning, revolutionize teaching methods, create a new framework of high-quality education development, promote key competency and teaching with virtue is becoming urgent and imperative.
The sixth CEIE will curate exceptional education innovations from education departments of all levels, kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, creativity-oriented education institutes, and exceptional enterprises of education innovation. It will carefully select approximately a thousand projects for the exhibition, covering all the cities, provinces and autonomous regions, including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
At the same time, the sixth CEIE will present its highest honor—“SERVE prize”, issue the first education innovation environment index along with the standards for extraordinary teachers with excellent teaching capabilities, host several thematic exhibition zones--Students project-based learning achievements celebrating the excellence of traditional Chinese culture, technological sports games, hands-on mathematics and science activities, new-era labor education, tests and assessment, science learning, preschool education, familial and social education.
The organizing committee will join forces with the international AI Education Association, inviting Huawei, Tencent, DJI, DOBOT, SenseTime, iFLYTEK, Future Name, Haier, Hisense and many other leading enterprises, to hold the special exhibition and conference for Artificial Intelligence Education, and showcase up-to-date products and practical progress in adolescence AI education.
According to the introduction, this sixth CEIE, prior to the five conferences successfully held, will not pursue the quantity of the exhibitions, the number of participants, or the categories of forum topics, but highlight the high quality and leadership of those innovations to meet the need for connotative education innovation in China’s high-quality education development in the new era, along with the consideration of deep imprint of post-pandemic era on human communication. Moreover, high qualification and influential status of participants are taken as priorities in considerations of policy-making and academic influence.
Thereby,CEIE will draw special attention on such important topics as “Excellent traditional Chinese culture with dedication to competences of cultural understanding and inheritance ”, “Guidance towards key competency, courses impeded with methods of project-based learning, reforms in learning and teaching”, “New campus life styles that will help students form better living habits and enjoy better health”, etc.
Various measures to conquer the last hurdle of transformation of education innovation
As introduced, the organizing committee will carry out a systematic design, along with such supporting elements as publicity, intellectual property protection, company investment, utilization of education departments and charity donation and many other sectors, to accomplish an important breakthrough for transforming education innovations.
Reportedly, the organizer will explore new ways to promote these innovations, through establishing education innovation experimental districts and schools, to provide more regions and schools with deeper collaboration through building cooperation platforms for the holistic reform of education practice. In the future, CEIE will not only become a melting pot for education professionals throughout the country to share their experience and showcase their talents, but also an effective platform to promote education productivity.
In accordance with those combined efforts, China Education Innovation Institute at Beijing Normal University will establish both a development committee and an academic committee, with membership of experts in and outside of campus, domestic and international, and with twelve organizations including the research institute of traditional Chinese culture excellency, the research institute of project-based learning, the centre for education innovation and leadership.These sectors will combine their efforts to design the entire system for innovation transformation of CEIE, which will establish a chain model of scouting-hatching-materializing. The institute will also set up platforms for transforming innovation. There will be more education innovations being shared, letting these projects flourish in the vast plain of educational practice, and ultimately turning their value into education productivity.
“The Education Innovation Expo will attract every education innovator, numerous investors and entrepreneurs dedicated to the materialization, transformation and sharing of education innovations. Educators will be encouraged to utilize advanced innovation in their practice, both at home and from abroad, to exchange ideas and promote reform.” The organizing committee stated, CEIE will continue gathering smart power from all sectors to systematically present the Chinese Wisdom in innovating basic education.It will also build an education innovation platform for cooperation among government sectors , education departments, enterprises, non-profit organizations and other sectors of society. Most importantly, CEIE will keep on exploring excellent education innovations, as well as cultivating and promoting innovation to ensure that good education resources would benefit every school, every teacher and every student, so as to accelerate educational transformation and update in China.
